Job Description:
- Develop project, logistics plan and procedures
- Provide tonnage estimates
- Provide shipping duration for the planned modes of transportation
- Route and arrange transportation of shipments
- Develop project logistics estimate coordinate transportation for normal loads, special oversized loads, hazardous and complex international shipments by all modes of transportation
- Evaluate traffic related proposals such as inland carriers, freight forwarders, export packers, charter shipments, ocean, air, freight rate agreements and custom brokers
- Perform expediting and / or tracing activities with carriers, packers, and shipping agents
- Support purchasing with carrier related insurance claims for overage, lost or damaged cargo
- Audit freight bills
- Ensure compliance with all local, state and federal regulations related to transportation, import and export
- Arranging for maritime surveyors
- Supervising or coordinating ship, barge and charter aircraft loading / discharging
- Determine requirements for, obtaining and administrating export or import licenses of countries through which a shipment will move
- Determining and administrating customs and other documentation requirements
- Supporting and administrating logistics services in coordination with buyers and contract administrators
- Timely clearance of all consignments
- Liaison with customs, logistics service providers, transport service providers and retailers
- Coordinate with the clearing and forwarding agent for timely filing of bill of entry
- Accurate documentation in ERP
- Communication with brands and retailers for shipment arrival and dispatch
- Month-end reporting of all purchases, sales and any other requirements from time to time
- Ensure timely payments to all logistics vendors
- Ensure that all supplier invoices are received and validated in a timely manner
- Responsible to check every quote along with costing to get the maximum profit on every shipment & avoid the non-profitable job
- Coordinate with claim department in case of any claim & follow-up regular basis till the time claim doesn’t close
