We are extremely proud to share with you all that PMR was recently felicitated at the “Rise to the Challenge Awards 2021” by WeConnect International in the Transportation & Logistics sector award category. The award category was sponsored by United Parcel Service (UPS). This award aimed to acknowledge and recognise companies/ initiatives who were resilient and agile in their business operations and supported people amidst the pandemic times through their innovative business services.
The past two years have been transitional for the Indian relocation industry. Everything came to a standstill; leaving people to question their fate of working in a heavily impacted industry. The logistics industry is dependent on a lot of external factors and hence, desperate times needed a well-thought innovation strategy to sail through uncertain times.
Being a MSME, we have always ensured that our core focus revolves around been innovative, available for our clients and staying relevant in the business. Being traditionally from a family of mover it was very unlike for us to explore other alternatives such as laptop and desktop movement to ensure business continuity and work from home. However, learning and exploring new avenues amidst the standstill became the only alternative to bounce back much faster. Which is why we were approached by most of our corporate clients to help them with packing and transporting laptops and desktops to the remotest of location in India amidst the lockdown. Our team (PMR’s COVID Warriors) not only got together to support us but also enhanced their skills to ensure safe deliveries of laptop and desktop movements.
Amidst the 2nd wave of the pandemic, our teams once again got together to support both individuals and organisations with our PRO-Bono logistic support. We partnered with two leading NGO, The Robinhood Army and GiveIndia in a collective mission to support both individual and healthcare facilities with warehousing and transporting necessary medical and essentials such as oxygen concentrators, cylinders, hospital beds and medical machines in a bid to help people survive the dire situation.
Our agile and resilient vision to sustain and ride on their difficult tides has led PMR to stay relevant. Despite the odds PMR emerged as an organisation which grew, took care of all its employees, customers and many individuals and NGO’s alike and stayed functional during the year and a half.
The year 2020 posed as a wake-up call for a lot of us. To thrive in this decade, it was crucial that people and companies had to leave behind their traditional way of operating businesses and develop resilience to withstand the unpredictable threat and change in the industry to emerge as strong winners in these new dynamics. Our CEO Ms. Aakanksha Bhargava is volunteering with the IAM Leadership board and it has been an enriching experience for her. To be able to work in synergies with various industry dignitaries to create a well-balanced ecosystem is a pure job. We have grown as an Industry and now thriving as a community to build a holistic platform which encourages holistic growth and development of not only our members but further extend it to the DNAs of their organisations.
For PMR, the year 2021 has been a transitioning year which led us to explore various business opportunities which could not have been tapped in the traditional business functioning. Slowly and steadily our team readapted to the ‘new normal’ and extended a hand of hope to people who were distressed given the COVID scenario. Together as India battled against the second wave of the corona virus our teams got together to support people. Till now we have come across many situations where our customers have lost their near and dear ones amidst the moving process and their belongings had to be packed and moved. We have also extended our service line-up by tying up with two recognised NGO’s, GiveIndia and Robinhood Army and supporting them with logistic needs with respect to food distribution and medical essential distribution such as oxygen concentrators, cylinder and other essentials. We came together with healthcare companies to provide them with logistic assistance for transporting heavy medical machinery and essentials.
Indian moving and relocation company, PM Relocations welcomes Mr. Sumit Bawa as Director (Logistics & Supply Chain) into the PMR family.
Sumit has been instrumental in scaling-up several start-ups and transport firms in the country and brings over 10 years of enriched experience of business development, strategic account management and bolstering business growth in the logistics & transportation sector. He is an ardent pet lover and football fanatic, and his humour and people skills are an additional asset for the company especially during the COVID era when nurturing individuals and teams are a crucial concern.
Bawa will be spearheading the supply chain vertical and aims to scale-up the ‘Pet Moving’, ‘Hospitality’ and other verticals for PMR. “Sumit has always been our biggest cheer leader and having seen the company grow all these years, his passion and love for the brand is unmatchable! Welcoming and introducing him formally to my people and industry is such an immense pleasure. Together we envision to explore new avenues and build PMR as the preferred choice for Mobility Support in the country”, says Aakanksha Bhargava, CEO (PMR).
“I have always been a part of PMR’s ecosystem from afar. Their passion and growth journey has always resonated with me. I see myself bolstering growth and innovation for the transport wing as well as exploring new and exciting business verticals for the company. My core focus would revolve around managing and improving the performance matrix and finding partners with whom we can explore synergies for collective growth and establishing the hospitality wing.” FF
PMR is immensely proud to share that our efforts have been recognised by leading media journals and newspapers in the country.
In midst of the crisis situation in India, PMR has been supporting and conducting Pro Bono activities for many individuals and NGO’s. Everyone at PMR is relentlessly working for the cause and has joined hands to uplift and support whoever we can.
This pandemic has led to logistics playing a very important role to support people. To ensure that emergency medical and essential services are not affected, and the public do not suffer, PMR team has opened their services for free to healthcare companies, hospitals, pharmacies, and individuals who are in urgent need of logistical support or require moving-and-packing services for essential items. Our pan-India services are helping with transporting oxygen concentrators, medical supplies, hospital beds, medical heavy equipment and machinery and any essential items.

PMR believes that our women squad is no less than any men, even if this industry is said to be male-dominated. So, this year, we celebrated International Women’s Day in a very unique way. Although it was just another day of recognizing our strong-willed and tenacious women at work, we made sure that we didn’t leave anyone behind.
To make this day even more special, we presented them with a unique gift. We understand that to work in the relocation industry, our strong females might have to be rigid to get work done with precision. However, there is no doubt that they have always been nurturing individuals from the inside.
So, on this 8th March 2021, we surprised our female employees at the workplace with a plant and personalized note attached to it. Nurturing as they are born to be, these women have been fostering our company’s vision for so long, working hard day and night to take our organization to greater heights. With this gift in these strong-willed women’s hands, we are sure they will nurture this plant as the vision of the company and contribute to making the surroundings even greener and blooming in the coming years.
However, this was a women-centric day. We at PMR believe that to achieve mutual goals, an equilibrium between employees should be maintained. And hence, we didn’t leave our male employees behind. To make this day even special, our youngest mover, Samaira, went ahead and brought smiles on our male squad at PMR with her sweet little gesture. Watch the video and catch all the fun-filled and memorable moments of the day.

This is to update you all that due to the online pass system for Chennai harbour (Port) entry from January 2020 it is mandatory to carry Aadhar Card and a Passport Size photo for all future consignees for clearance at the Port.
If the consignee doesn't furnish an Aadhar card there is no other option in the system to arrange for an entry pass. Hence, the shipments would be custom cleared via furnishing the Power of Attorney only at the Chennai Port.
