- April 17: On account of Mahavir Jayanti in India, all the government organisations such as banks, ports, etc. would remain closed
-April 18: The following Indian states - Karnataka, Maharashtra, Odisha, Tamil Nadu and West Bengal; shall contest polls as per the updated General Elections 2019 schedule.
-April 19: On account of Good Friday
-April 20 & April 21: On account of weekend and Easter celebrations.
The above dates adjoining the long weekend would lead to slow movement of cargo facilities and financial flow, which inturn is expected to pose delays in other relocation and transportation services.

PM Relocations, gladly announces the opening of our new warehouse facility in Pune, India. It is closely located to the busy Nhava Sheva port.
The facility which spans across 5000 square feet and serves as the primary facility for PMR in Pune; will provide access to household and commercial shipments for both long term and short-term duration. The new warehouse is a state of the art facility with a secure and efficient area, equipped with high vision CCTV cameras for the safety of goods, a full back-up generator and a dedicated air- conditioned section for art work and temperature-controlled storage.

PMR would like to bring your kind attention to the revised custom duty percentage in India. The custom duty has been hiked from 36.05 per cent to 38.05 per cent effective from 2nd February 2018 as per the information floated by the Customs in India.
Apart from this Social Welfare Surcharge is being levied on imported goods with effect from 2nd February 2018 to provide and finance education, health and social security. A Social Welfare Surcharge (SWS) @ 10% has been introduced, replacing the education cess and secondary and higher education cess leviable on imported goods. SWS shall be calculated on the aggregate of duties, taxes and cesses applicable on such goods (excluding safeguard duty, countervailing duty, anti-dumping duty, Integrated Goods and Service Tax and Goods and Service Tax Compensation Cess). The import of petrol, high speed diesel, silver and gold shall be exigible to concessional rates of SWS @ 3%. Various other products, such as those exempted from education cess earlier, shall continue to be exempted from the levy of SWS.

PM Relocations would like to inform you about the apparent riots which started on 02nd January 2018 between two communities, the Dalits and the Marathas in Pune. Lakhs of Dalits gathered in the city to attend an event to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the battle of Bhima Koregaon on 01st January 2018, which was followed by violent clashes between Dalit and Maratha groups, resulting in riot situation, death of at least one person and injuries to several others.
The situation has also spread to certain parts of Mumbai such as Chembur, Mulund and Thane over the last 24 hours. Currently the local police officials have asked all offices including the PMR Office in Pune to be closed till the situation settles down. Many shops, offices, hotels and roads in Mumbai also have been asked to shut down to avoid the ripple effect of the ongoing tension in Pune. Our team will keep you informed on the developments with regards to the cargo delays and job rescheduling during the next few days till the situation resumes normalcy.
